On the main functions of rural families in China at present.

A: Family function refers to the role and efficiency of the family for the survival of family members and social development. As the basic unit of rural society, rural families have the following six important functions: (1) Reproductive function, that is, reproductive function of population. Reproductive function is not only a simple population multiplication, but also the birth and education of a new generation. (2) Production function, that is, the family has the function and efficiency of material production and plays a role in society as a production unit. (3) Consumption function, family plays an important role in personal life and social consumption. Rural residents' consumption includes production consumption and life consumption. (4) Support function, that is, the family has the responsibility to support the elderly, including not only material and economic support, but also life care and emotional communication. (5) Educational function: Family educates minors to make them grow into qualified members of society. (6) Entertainment function, mainly including emotional communication between members and family entertainment activities.
