In May of the second year of Shunzhi (the first year, 1645), Prince Yu and many other soldiers went south, and even Yangzhou and other important towns arrived in Nanjing. Emperor Hong Guang was captured, and more than 200 courtiers and civil servants and more than 238,000 cavalry surrendered. In the summer of the same year, Jiangyin was cleared.

After the occupation of Nanjing, Dourgen issued an order to shave and change clothes, forcing the Han people in the Qing Dynasty to change their hair and clothes into full clothes and full ornaments.
