Extended data
Qingtian Stone is one of the four traditional Yin Zhangshi in China. In China, they, together with Bahrain Stone, Shoushan Stone and Changshou Stone, are called "Four Famous Stones" in China. Qingtian stone is a metamorphic intermediate-acid volcanic rock called rhyolite tuff. Its main mineral components are pyrophyllite, quartz, sericite, sillimanite, epidote and diaspore.
Because Shoushan mining area was mined earlier, the old saying "Tiankeng, Shuikeng and Shankeng" refers to the ore mined in the bottom of the field, water flow and karst caves in this mining area. After 1500 years of excavation, there are hundreds of varieties of Shoushan stone.
According to textual research, the mining of bloodstone began in Ming Dynasty and became famous in Qing Dynasty. Emperor Kangxi, Emperor Qianlong and Emperor Jiaqing all appreciated Changhua bloodstone and took it as a seal. A set of "bloodstone seal" special stamps recently issued by the State Post Bureau printed two seals.
