What does the United States stand for in terms of human rights?
The actions of the United States Government have made the people of the world more and more y aware of the hypocrisy of its "defense of human rights" and the ferocity of its human rights abuses. American scholar Julie Myrtus once said, "The United States has only a language of human rights, not a culture of human rights." In view of the gravity of human rights hegemony in the United States, which destroys human nature, tramples on human rights and jeopardizes humanity, and the absence of a human rights culture in the United States, as well as the superficial understanding of human rights among the American people, the international community should take up the responsibility of opposing human rights hegemony in the United States, and also of educating the United States about a culture of human rights. The first thing that is needed is to educate on the "human rights culture of equality", the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the right to life. The United States, as the richest country in the world, should use its economic power for the right to life of the poor, both domestically and internationally, and not for wars of aggression to kill people in other countries. For the United States, a deep introspection of its own human rights doctrine is necessary. The United States had elevated its own special human rights model to a universal human rights model to be practiced by other countries, denying the legitimacy of the special nature of other countries' human rights models. This is a manifestation of United States human rights hegemony. The human rights hegemony of the United States permeates all aspects of its national policy, including the economic, political, cultural and military spheres, and therefore human rights education for it should be all-encompassing and systematic. We believe that, with the scientific development of the concept of human rights of the peoples of the world and the improvement of the understanding of the nature of the U.S. human rights hegemony, the international cause of human rights will continue to develop.
