Why did Tomb-Sweeping Day insert the Qingming Diaozi?

Every time we visit our ancestors' graves in Tomb-Sweeping Day, we will hang Qingming Diaozi, burn some paper money for those ancestors who left us, and then cut some weeds in front of the graves. This process is to sweep the grave. We are used to calling it "hanging the Qingming Diaozi".

The formation of Qingming tune has a long historical development process. It developed from a simple evocation paper banner. It has been thousands of years in our country to pay homage to the dead with the banner of evocation paper. Later, it gradually evolved, and a special sacrifice-Qingming Diaozi was derived, which was inserted in front of the grave of the deceased on the memorial day. There is also a saying among the people in Qianjiang that the hanging basket is a sunshade used in the underworld, and it is an umbrella for the living to shelter the dead from the wind and rain. Of course, this is nonsense, but it is only to express the comfort of the living to life and death, and it is a way for people to mourn.
