There is no essential difference between Yixing's hand-pulled pot and Jingdezhen's hand-pulled pot in Jiangxi. Nothing more than mud making, mud kneading, blank drawing, blank baking, blank cutting, firing and other processes, but in the end, the processes of cover repairing, mud coating and re-firing were added.

The first step is to make mud, which is the most critical step in Yixing's hand-pulled pot. This involves the proportion of purple mud, kaolin, metal oxide and water glass. Poor proportion, mud is not easy to pull, defects are easy to appear after firing, or the color of the hand-pulled pot is too red.

The second step is to knead the mud. The function of kneading mud is to exhaust the air in the mud and further disperse the water in the mud evenly. If the molded hand-pulled pot contains air, it is easy to crack when fired. Traditional mud kneading methods can be divided into sheep head mud kneading method and chrysanthemum mud kneading method. Of course, there are also rumors that the machine has been used to pinch the mud of the billet.

Step 3: Die drawing: Put the drilled clay block in the center of the electric turntable, then lift it with hands dipped in water to make the clay block slender in the center of the turntable, and then slowly press it down with the palm of your hand to make the blank clay thick, short and flat. In this way, the blank mud can be repeatedly pressed on the turntable for several times to start painting.

According to the shape and specifications of the pot, the size of the blank is calculated. First press the flat mud blank against the mud cake, and then slowly pull it up with both hands. After pulling, simply repair the bottom of the pot with tools, and pay attention to the thickness of the blank when pulling.

After the initial molding, compare with the master mold, continue to adjust the shape with your fingers, trim the mouth edge, check the roundness and height with tools, and finally cut the mouth edge and the bottom of the pot with tools. The handle of the lid is the same.

Step 4: drying in the sun, that is, the drawn blank can not be directly exposed to the sun, but needs to be placed in a cool and ventilated place to dry naturally, and the blank can be repaired after air drying until it does not stick to hands. At the same time, grouting can be started to make spout and handle.

The fifth step is to trim the blank, and the hand-drawing process is divided into three parts and seven parts. Trimming is also the key to hand-painted pots. The appearance of the hand-painted pot depends on how to trim the blank.

The blank puller turns the dried blank up and down on the electric turntable, cuts the bottom of the pot with tools, and opens the circle at high speed. Then polish the bottom of the pot with tools to increase smoothness?

Use tools to trim the hand-painted pattern of the pot body, repair the pot cover and turn the pot button. Continue the same process and polish the pot body and lid with tools to increase the smoothness of the pot body. Similar to the whole hand and half hand needle opening process.

Step 6, repair the lid of the hand-pulled kettle, open the spout hole and install the spout handle. Cover the bottom of the top column, push the wall and scrape the bottom to cover the hand-painted pattern in the pot. Finally, firing in a kiln, grinding the whole mouth, plastering and re-firing. In this way, a Yixing hand-pulled pot has completed all the production processes and can be sold to the outside world.

The output of hand-pulled pots far exceeds that of half-hand pots. A skilled blank puller can pull out hundreds of pots every day. Although it has certain handicraft properties, it cannot be regarded as a teapot because of the change of clay properties and the addition of chemical elements.
