The usual structure of news

There are four news structures: 1, inverted pyramid structure; 2. Time sequence structure; 3. Suspension structure; 4. Parallel structure.

The inverted pyramid structure has five characteristics: 1. It breaks the routine of writing, not arranging distinct paragraphs according to the sequence of events, but determining the writing order according to the importance of facts; 2. It requires that the most important and wonderful news facts be placed in the introduction of news, while other facts are arranged according to the principle of "emphasizing first and then ignoring". 3. It often adopts some element leads, that is, one or two elements with the most news value are highlighted in the leads; 4. The narrative of the incident process is relatively general, and each paragraph is very concise; 5. There are often logical connections between paragraphs.

The advantages of inverted pyramid structure are: 1, which is beneficial to organizing writing quickly; 2. It helps editors and readers to understand the whole news. The disadvantage is that it is not suitable for some non-event news and humanities news. Therefore, it is suitable for writing breaking news, and attention should be paid to the cohesion and logical progressive relationship between paragraphs when writing.

The chronological structure is written according to the chronological order of events. It is suitable for news with strong story and winning by plot, especially for writing on-site witnesses. Its advantages are clear organization and strong sense of scene. Its disadvantages are: 1, the beginning is too dull and often unattractive; 2. The best part of the news is often drowned in the long narrative.

Suspended structure is a new structural form combining inverted pyramid structure and time series structure, which complement each other. The beginning of this kind of news is a suspense lead, which skillfully points out the most wonderful or important facts, arouses the reader's appetite, and then writes them in the following paragraphs basically in the order of events. Its advantages are concrete, complete, clear and focused narration, which is convenient for readers to understand and accept news information. It is suitable for news events that are good at drama, such as biographies, witnesses on the spot, news stories, etc.

There is a general introduction at the beginning of the coordinate structure, and the content involved in the natural paragraphs behind it is basically a coordinate relationship. Parallel structure is suitable for empirical and public news reports.
