What does the fourth industry mean?
The fourth industry refers to the knowledge-intensive service industry based on emerging technologies such as Internet and information technology. According to the book "Information Economy: Definition and Measurement" written by American economist and information expert Mark Yuri Polat from 65438 to 0977, this paper puts forward the "four industrial classifications" of national economic activities, namely agriculture, industry, service industry and information industry.
In the early 1980s, American futurist Gan Harman first put forward the term "the fourth industry". Today, people's theoretical research and concrete practice on the "fourth industry" have become more diversified.
