? First of all, unique raw materials have created unique Nimu Tibetan paper.
The raw materials used for papermaking in Nimuzang are different from bamboo, rice and fishing nets in the Central Plains, and replaced by Stellera chamaejasme, a widely planted herb in Tibet. Stellera chamaejasme is a very common plant in Tibet, which blooms every July. Because it is full of toxicity, cattle and sheep will avoid it when they see it. It is precisely because of this unique nature that the local people skillfully made Nimu Tibetan paper from Stellera chamaejasme, which became the natural guarantee of the scriptures.
Second, Nimu Tibetan paper can be preserved for more than 800 years.
Due to the complicated construction, in Tibetan areas, the main purpose of Nimu Tibetan paper is to print scriptures, which are mainly used for all kinds of classic works collected in Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Sakya Temple. Because Nimu Tibetan paper is not afraid of insects and rats, and the dry and oxygen-deficient plateau climate in Tibet, the classics can be preserved for more than 1000 years.
Nimu Tibetan Paper was rated as Xizang Autonomous Region Intangible Cultural Heritage and National Intangible Cultural Heritage. Most importantly, it is not only insect-proof and rat-proof, but also the handwriting on the paper is still clear and the ink will not fade after writing on it.
As the intangible cultural heritage of China, Nimu Tibetan paper profoundly makes us feel the significance of national culture, and only by making rational use of plant toxicity can we bring the Millennium Tibetan paper.
