A brief introduction to the history of developing textile industry in Wugang

Wugang is located in the south of Henan Province, adjacent to northern Henan, southern Henan and southern Anhui, with superior geographical position and rich natural resources. By the middle of the 20th century, with the development of machine textile industry, Wugang gradually introduced a large number of textile machinery, and began to gradually realize the transformation and upgrading from manual textile to machine textile. After 1949, the textile industry of Wugang developed rapidly with the strong support and investment of the state. In 1950s, the first batch of textile mills were established in Wugang area, and the cotton yarn and cloth produced were widely recognized by the market. During the 1960s and 1970s, with the state's key support for the textile industry, the scale of the textile industry in Wugang was continuously expanded and the industrial chain was gradually improved.
