Introduction to the folk art of Hainan
Hainan Qiongju Opera, also known as Qiongzhou Opera and Hainan Opera, is a folk opera in Hainan Province, China. Qiongju opera is one of the branches of the southern theater, mainly in Hainanese as the language of the opera, so the popularity of the region is also limited to Hainan Island and between the two sides of the country. Qiong Opera is one of the symbols of local culture and has a history of more than 300 years.
Qiong Opera, also known as "Qiongzhou Opera" and "Hainan Opera", is one of the four major types of opera in Lingnan, along with Cantonese Opera, Chiu Chow Opera and Han Opera. Qiong Opera has a long history, is popular in Hainan Province, Guangdong Leizhou, Gaozhou and Guangxi Hepu area of the local theater, by the Chiu Chow Opera, Minnan Pi Yuan Opera absorbed the local people's songs and tunes developed.
