Expansion of knowledge:
Pinyin is the phonetic symbol for Chinese characters and is the basic phonetic system of Mandarin. It consists of three parts: consonants, rhymes and tones.
The consonants are the first letters of Pinyin, and there are 21 of them, including b, p, m, f, d, t, n, l, g, k, h, j, q, x, zh, ch, sh, r, z, c, and s. These consonants are divided into several categories according to the part of the body where they are pronounced and the method of pronouncing them, including labiodental, alveolar, medial, and retroflex consonants.
Rhymes are the main part of pinyin, and there are 24 of them, including single rhymes (a, o, e, i, u, v), compound rhymes (ai, ei, ui, ao, ou, iu, ie, ve) and nasal rhymes (an, en, in, un, vn). Rhymes can be divided into several categories according to the different methods and parts of articulation, such as the open mouth call, the flush call and the handful of mouth call.
Tones are an important part of Pinyin, and there are four tones in ****, namely, ping ting (yin ping), shang ting (yang ping), go ting (shang ting), and enter ting (go ting). Each Chinese character has a fixed tone, and characters with different tones have different meanings and pronunciations.
The spelling rules of Pinyin include hyphenation, abbreviation, and syllable stops. In hyphenation, the consonant comes first, the rhyme follows, and letters without tones are omitted. Abbreviation refers to the possibility of combining some letters under certain circumstances, for example, "zhongguo" can be abbreviated to "ZG". Syllable pause refers to a place in pinyin where a pause is needed, such as "bǎi/gē/dī/pàng".
Pinyin is very widely used, and it is the basis for learning Chinese. Through the study of Pinyin, people can pronounce and spell Chinese characters correctly, and improve their oral and written expression. At the same time, Pinyin is also the basis for inputting Chinese characters into computers. Through Pinyin input method, people can input Chinese characters into computers easily and quickly.
