The Influence of China Classical Gardens on the Development of Modern Gardens

China classical gardens are China landscape gardens represented by private gardens in the south of the Yangtze River and royal gardens in the north, which are unique in the history of world garden development. It is a precious historical and cultural heritage of all mankind. However, at present, there are two totally different attitudes towards China classical gardens in landscape architecture circles. First, the rest theory of classical gardens; Second, the theory of classical garden revival. The former regards classical gardens as a dead thing that cannot be integrated into the real society, and denies the positive significance of carrying forward the tradition. The latter emphasizes the inheritance of classical gardens from the perspective of promoting national culture, but often follows its forms of expression. In my opinion, whether in the East or the West, it is not advisable to completely deny or copy the traditional or modern garden forms! This is not conducive to the healthy development of modern landscape architecture in China. Although China, with rapid economic development, has increasingly become a stage for international landscape architects to show their skills, the international status of modern landscape architecture in China is still very low, and there is a lack of internationally influential designers and works. For more than a century, China's modern landscape architecture has been following the western modern forms and styles, and it has followed suit. Lack of understanding: the social and cultural background of western modern landscape architecture fails to combine western theory and practice with local actual conditions. On the one hand, modern landscape architecture in China lacks traditions that can be directly inherited; On the other hand, there is a lack of in-depth understanding of the design concept and development trend of international landscape architecture. Facts have proved that the healthy development of modern landscape architecture in China can not rely entirely on the role of overseas landscape architects, nor can it copy the western modern landscape architecture model! Only by the rise of a large number of designers with real conscience and professional ethics. Create landscape architecture works that conform to the international development trend and have national characteristics, but its deep international recognition status is still very low.
