The use of design patterns can make many often difficult to solve problems become more easily solved, but also can reuse existing code, so that the complexity of software development is greatly reduced, so that the proposed design patterns to a large extent to solve the problem of designing reusable software.

Design patterns are classified into three types according to their nature: creation, structural and behavioral. The Adapter pattern is one of the structural patterns, and its purpose is to convert the interface of a class into another interface that the client wants, so that classes that would otherwise not work together because of incompatible interfaces can work together.

This thesis will begin with a comprehensive overview of design patterns to understand the concept of design patterns, several basic elements of design patterns, and the classification of design patterns. This will be followed by a detailed study of the Adapter Pattern, one of the 23 basic design patterns, to understand the classification of Adapter Patterns and their respective structures, as well as to summarize the circumstances under which the pattern can be applied.
