Liangzhu Culture

Liangzhu culture was distributed in the center of the Qiantang River basin and Taihu Lake basin, about 5300 to 4000 years ago.

Rice agriculture was quite advanced during the Liangzhu culture. There are indica rice, japonica rice, and the general use of stone plows, stone sickle. Liangzhu culture handicrafts also have high achievements, jade production, pottery, woodwork, bamboo weaving, silk and hemp textile have reached a high level.

The theme of the decoration on the jade wares is the animal-face pattern of gods and men, which is the embodiment of the concept of "the unity of man and heaven" and the belief of Liangzhu forefathers, and has gradually become the core of the traditional Chinese culture. Life Ware:

The pottery of Liangzhu culture is dominated by gray and black pottery sanded with fine sand and clay gray-tired black-skinned pottery. The wheel system is more common. Generally thinner walls, the surface of the vessel to plain polished more, a few have fine incised patterns and skeletonization. Rimmed vessels and three-footed vessels were more prevalent.
