Why tattoos are not accepted in China?
Tattoos are not recognized because they run counter to the Confucian cultural concepts respected by domestic society. "The body is damaged, parents dare not damage, and filial piety begins." Even hair and nails that fall off should be carefully collected and preserved, not to mention tattoos that damage the skin. Even in the eyes of literati, tattoos are as keen as broken hair as barbarians.
Influenced by the critical attitude of Confucian culture towards tattoos, tattoos are obviously an "alternative" and "non-mainstream" thing in the eyes of China people.
