Common postures in anorectal surgery
(1) lateral position: usually the left lateral position is adopted, and sometimes the right lateral position can be adopted due to the patient's physical reasons or medical needs. The correct lateral posture is that the hips are close to the bed, the hips and knees are flexed 90 degrees, and the hips and knees are flexed 45 degrees. This position is suitable for minor anorectal surgery or examination of seriously ill, elderly and frail patients;
(2) Knee-chest position: The patient bends his knees and kneels on the bed, with his elbows close to the bed surface, his chest pressed down as far as possible and his hips raised. This is the most commonly used examination posture at present, but it can't last long and is not suitable for seriously ill patients or the elderly.
(3) Squatting position: The patient squats down and takes a deep breath, forcibly increases abdominal pressure and defecates, which is suitable for patients with rectal prolapse, rectal polyp, hemorrhoid prolapse and rectal tumor.
