"Chinese folk music appreciation" learning experience

This semester I took the "Chinese folk music appreciation" class, in the teacher's Huang's teaching, I have a preliminary understanding of the traditional music of China's various ethnic groups, artistic literacy and art appreciation have been improved to some extent. Through this elective course of study, I have benefited a lot, I will talk about my experience.

In fact, when I chose to take an elective course, I was only trying to get enough credits, and I didn't really care what I learned. I myself is the so-called no music cell people, for the understanding of music is only limited to the interest in music, that good to listen to listen, and can not have a deep understanding of it, such as music contains feelings, show what kind of mood, rich in what kind of meaning, and so on, that we can not be appreciated out of.

The reason why I chose Chinese folk music appreciation, but also a kind of coincidence. I was surprised to learn that I had to come to the class from the beginning, and then I was looking forward to coming to the class every Wednesday night, and finally, when the class was about to end, I felt that I had a new understanding of music, and it seemed that I could try to understand music and touch music.

The most indispensable thing in the world is sound, and the most wonderful thing in sound is music. Music is the interpretation of all the sounds in the world, is the flavor of social life. Without music, the world will be dull and boring, and life will be dead and lifeless. Therefore, music enriches our life and cultivates our sentiment. After this semester's study, my viewpoint on music has changed. Through one semester's study of music appreciation class, I have a brand new understanding of music, and my own music appreciation ability has been improved to a certain extent. Before taking the Chinese Ethnic Music Appreciation class, I thought that music was only for listening. In fact, it is not, the function of music is more than that. The so-called music, broadly speaking, is any kind of artistic, pleasant, sacred or whatever other way of arranging sounds is music. It is a symbol, sound symbols, expressing what people think, is one of the carriers of people's thoughts; is purposeful, is connotative, which implies the author's life experience, ideological feelings; it can be organized melody and rhythm to express people's thoughts and feelings and reflect the reality of social life.

Because it is an appreciation class, so in addition to the music played by the teacher in class, I also downloaded some traditional folk music on the Internet to enjoy. For example, "High Mountains and Flowing Water", "Birds of Prey", "Spring River and Moonlit Night" and so on. Listening to it myself, together with what the teacher said in class, I began to have a better understanding of folk music. Chinese folk music is a unified concept, which includes the folk music of Han Chinese and various ethnic minorities, such as Zhuang mountain songs, Mongolian pastoral songs, Han Chinese dialect songs, etc. We don't necessarily need to have a lot of knowledge about folk music. We don't necessarily need to have a lot of musical knowledge or a high level of appreciation, just ? open our ears? to listen to music. When enjoying music, we will feel the melody is beautiful or melodious, and intuitively choose the songs or music that we find pleasing to the ear to enjoy, and at the same time, we can also experience the emotions and connotations in the songs and music from a deeper level. We can enjoy the same song or piece of music over and over again, and through association and reflection, we can come up with the feelings rendered by the song or piece of music. Further, we can learn about the musical composition's period background, style, genre as well as the characteristics of its musical language and the author's biography, etc., so as to more y appreciate the connotation of the musical composition. In this process, we need to know the basic knowledge of music and have certain appreciation ability. In the deeper appreciation of musical works, we can not only get the pleasure of the appreciation process, but also to develop our music aesthetic ability and cultivate sentiment.

I believe that learning Chinese folk music appreciation is conducive to the development of their own attention to life, love of life quality. Folk music, as the name suggests, is of course from the folk. As the saying goes, practice is the source of knowledge, and folk music in its nature reflects the historical process of the nation, the state of reality and the daily life of the people. Only by listening with the heart can one truly appreciate the connotation of the ideas expressed by folk artists and understand the splendor of the world. For example, by listening to the song "My Home in the Beautiful Grassland", we can appreciate the vast beauty of the grassland and the happy life of the herdsmen. Appreciating "In that faraway place" and "Lift up your head", we can recognize the customs of the northwestern region and broaden our horizons. The list goes on and on. Such an appreciation class is more enlightening than a boring book.

Secondly, the study of "Chinese folk music appreciation" is conducive to the promotion of national culture. In the face of the increasing decline of folk music, folk music education in colleges and universities can expand the popularity of folk music, improve its influence, and promote the revival of folk music.

The study of "Appreciation of Chinese Ethnic and Folk Music" is conducive to enriching the spiritual and cultural life of our college students, and improving our spiritual taste and artistic literacy.
