Application process of world cultural heritage
Step 2: Meet the evaluation requirements of UNESCO World Heritage Committee.
The third step: the field investigation report of cultural heritage candidate sites ICOMOS and IUCN.
The fourth step, UNESCO World Heritage Committee reviews the registration recommendation.
Step 5: Final consideration by the World Heritage Committee;
The sixth step is to register formally.
A country needs to make a detailed list of its precious cultural and natural heritage first. Nomination forms submitted to the World Heritage Center will be independently reviewed by the International Council of Monuments and Sites and the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources. After that, the evaluation report was sent to the World Heritage Committee. Sometimes, the Committee postpones the conclusion, requests member countries to provide more information, or decides not to include it, and the nominated heritage that has been rejected for inclusion in the World Heritage List may not apply again. A heritage needs to meet the registration criteria before it can be recorded as a world heritage.
