The tradition of British conservatism

During the period from 65438 to 0832 before the British parliamentary reform, the political feature of British conservatism was that the industrial bourgeoisie failed to fully participate in state power.

Conservatism has a long history in Britain, almost accompanied by the emergence of the British state. Conservatism really appears as a political attitude or thought. After the French Revolution around 1789 shocked Europe, conservatives emphasized the need to maintain political stability for social harmony and public interests, showing their early conservative thoughts. The Conservative Party tends to be a small government and a free market economy structure, and confronts the industrialists and totalitarian regimes in political ideology to defend its conservative values from threats. Due to the different historical background and strategic needs, conservatism has various manifestations, but its basic proposition is to maintain the social status quo and historical traditions and oppose social changes, so it excludes proletarian revolution and even the industrial bourgeoisie.

It was not until 1832 that the British Parliament carried out electoral reform that the industrial bourgeoisie won more seats, greatly strengthened its role in parliament, and the conservative politics was broken, which also provided a guarantee for the further development of industrial capitalism.
