Phosphorus removal from industrial wastewater mainly adopts biological phosphorus removal and chemical phosphorus removal.

1. Biological phosphorus removal is to produce volatile organic acids from activated sludge as nutrients for the growth of phosphorus accumulating bacteria, and promote the growth and reproduction of activated sludge. The method can also convert organophosphorus and metaphosphate which are difficult to be physically and chemically treated into orthophosphate which can be chemically treated. However, this method will make phosphorus remain in organisms, and microorganisms are likely to be released again after environmental changes.

2. Chemical dephosphorization agent dephosphorization method can quickly treat orthophosphate in sewage, which has strong adaptability, but it will relatively reduce the sludge concentration and increase the amount of sludge in water, resulting in the influence of metal substances and color.
