What are the five systems and two mechanisms of automobile engines?

The automobile engine consists of five systems, namely, cooling system, lubricating system, ignition system, oil supply system and starting system, and two mechanisms, namely crank-connecting rod mechanism and valve train mechanism.

1, supply system

The function of gasoline engine fuel system is to mix pure air and gasoline into a proper proportion of combustible mixture according to the needs of different working conditions of the engine, and send it to each cylinder for combustion, and then the generated exhaust gas is discharged into the atmosphere.

2. Ignition system

In a gasoline engine, the combustible mixture in the cylinder is ignited by electric spark, so a spark plug is installed on the cylinder head of the gasoline engine, and the head of the spark plug extends into the combustion chamber. All devices that can generate electric sparks between spark plug electrodes on time are called ignition systems. The traditional ignition system consists of battery, generator, ignition coil, distributor and spark plug.

3. Cooling system

The cooling system dissipates part of the heat absorbed by the heated parts in time to ensure that the engine works at the most suitable temperature. The water-cooled cooling system consists of water jacket, water pump, radiator, fan and thermostat. Air cooling consists of a fan and a heat sink.

4. Lubrication system

The function of lubrication system is to deliver a certain amount of clean lubricating oil to the surface of relatively moving parts to realize liquid friction, reduce friction resistance and reduce parts wear. And the surface of the part is cleaned and cooled. Lubrication system consists of oil pump, filter, pressure limiting valve, oil circuit and oil filter.

5. Start the enrichment system

In order to make the engine transition from the static state to the working state, the crankshaft of the engine must be rotated by external force to make the piston reciprocate, and the combustible mixture in the cylinder burns and expands to do work, pushing the piston to move downward and making the crankshaft rotate. The engine can run by itself, and the working cycle can be carried out automatically. Therefore, the whole process from when the crankshaft starts to rotate under the action of external force to when the engine starts to idle automatically is called engine starting. The device needed to complete the starting process is called the starting system of the engine. It consists of a starter and its accessories.
