Masonry building technology

New houses were built with the remaining masonry rubble of collapsed houses, and the creative Minnan people mixed them together for formal mixed masonry. Stones are placed vertically and bricks are piled horizontally. After building to a certain height, stones and bricks exchange with each other, so that their stress state is balanced. The front and rear bricks overlap, and the wall thickness is about 40cm. Glue with mud and lime, and add brown sugar water to shell ash. Bricks usually pop up slightly from the stone surface, forming a characteristic title of "brick into stone"

At the same time, according to the habits of craftsmen and the conditions of existing materials, there are many kinds of stones, such as point, strip and block. The proportion of stones in the "brick out of stone into" is that some are decorated with one or two stones, and some are covered with rows. The mortar joint treatment of "brick goes out and stone goes in" includes both concave joint and flat joint. The application parts of "brick in stone out" are the whole wall, the lower wall and the corner. The combination of points, surfaces and lines formed by the joint between stone and brick makes good use of the color and texture contrast formed by stone and brick, and white stone and red brick are interspersed together to form various irregular compositions. Whether it is the contrast of light and shade between stone and brick, or the harmony of their colors, and the artistic conception of relaxation and conflict expressed in it, it is the unique style of red brick culture. The Jimei school building built by 19 13 is an innovative work of overseas Chinese leader Chen Jiageng. He optimized the "brick-out-of-stone" method of red brick dwellings in southern Fujian to the extreme, using Xiamen's rich multi-color granite, using Minnan stone, wood, brick and soil as raw materials, and hired Minnan craftsmen to carry out construction, and brought the "brick-out-of-stone" technology to the extreme. The main body, facade and columns of the building also adopt colored granite patterns, which are original in color, elegant in shape, stable and harmonious, greatly increasing the overall aesthetic feeling and more distinctive in personality. Mr Chen Jiageng is the first person to innovate colorful building technology.
