What kind of sheng should beginners buy?
The traditional sheng is generally thirteen, seventeen and nineteen springs, but it has twenty-one, twenty-four, twenty-six, thirty-six, thirty-seven and forty-two springs after improvement.
Traditional sheng uses his fingers to press the hole to control the sound of that branch pipe. Improved sheng and keys, one finger can control multiple keys, thus controlling more sounds.
Modern Chinese orchestras often use 36-reed sheng instead of traditional sheng, including tenor sheng, tenor sheng, tenor sheng and bass sheng. Their range is as follows:
Alto Sheng (36 springs): G3-F _ 6(= alto C)
Alto sheng (36 springs): C3-B5
Sheng (36 spring): G2-F5
Bass (36 springs) G4
Second, what kind of sheng should beginners buy?
Traditional sheng is the kind played in the hand (17 and 2 1 spring are the most common, and playing music is enough), which is also the first contact for sheng learners. If you want to learn sheng just because you are interested, I suggest that you always learn this kind.
The treble sheng is widely used by students and regular orchestras. This sheng has a full range of three octaves or even three and a half (three octaves for 36 springs and three and a half for 42 springs). The treble sheng is louder than the traditional sheng and needs to be played on the thigh. This sheng is generally not recommended for beginners. Beginners should start with traditional sheng, and if they want to play this kind of music seriously, they can plan to buy high-pitched sheng.
Alto sheng is mostly used in orchestras. The alto sheng also has three octaves, but it is lower and much larger than the alto sheng. Need to play on the shelf. If you are just interested, it is not recommended to learn this.
Bass sheng is bigger than alto sheng and needs to be played on the box. Bass sheng is the tallest in sheng and the thickest in the pipe. Bass also has three octaves, but they are all lower than midrange, so this beginner doesn't have to consider it.
Third, the price is high.
Tradition is strong. If it's just because of interest, 1500 ~ 2000 will do. Don't buy anything too cheap or too expensive. If you want to study hard, you can consider 2000 ~ 4500 (a poor high-pitched sheng value of 4500), and the traditional sheng sold on Taobao is basically not considered. Cheap because of two things: first, the quantity of reeds is small and the price is naturally low, and second, the quality is really poor to sell so cheaply.
High-pitched sheng, the difference of about 5000 can be bought or even cheaper. But if you plan to play all your life, you will naturally buy a good one. If you don't want to buy poor instruments and think that more than 10 thousand instruments are too expensive, you can consider about 7000 ~ 8000.
Altosheng, basically above 10000 yuan, professional beginners don't have to consider it.
The price of bass sheng will not be cheaper than that of alto.
