Introduction of Huai Opera
Huai Opera, also known as Jianghuai Opera and Huai Opera, is an ancient Chinese opera. Originated in Yancheng County and Funing County in Qing Dynasty, it was popular in Jiangsu Province, Shanghai City and parts of Anhui Province. In the middle of Qing Dynasty, it was popular in Huai 'an Prefecture (now Yancheng and Huai 'an) and Yangzhou Prefecture. A form of rap "Menhu" is developed from farmers' hymns and Tian Ge's "Miao Qiang" and "Yang Miao Tune", which is very popular among local Han people. It is called erkezi in the form of a solo or two duets, and it just beats with bamboo boards. After the Huai Opera, it co-performed with the "Xiang Opera" of the Han nationality in northern Jiangsu. Later, influenced by Hui Opera and Peking Opera (called Huijiake), Huai Opera was gradually enriched in singing, performance and repertoire. In June 2008, Huai Opera declared by Shanghai Huai Opera Troupe and Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province was approved by the State Council to be included in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
