The four major comedies in Yuanqu are Guan Hanqing's The Pavilion of Moon Worshipping, Wang Shifu's The Story of the Western Chamber, Bai Park's On the Walled Horse, and Zheng Guangzu's The Sinful Maiden's Soul.
1, "Bay Moon Pavilion"
"Bay Moon Pavilion", also known as "Wang Ruilan's Complaint Bay Moon Pavilion", is an ancient Chinese miscellaneous drama, one of the four major love dramas of the Yuan dynasty. It was written by Guan Hanqing in the Yuan dynasty. *** Four folds and a wedge. Only the lyrics and part of the bingbai survived, mainly written about the marriage and love story of Wang Ruilan, a lady of the house, and Jiang Shilong, a showman, who is in a sad and happy relationship.
2. "Cui Yingying to Wait for the Moon: A Tale of the Western Wing" (or "The Tale of the Western Wing" for short, also known as "Wang's Western Wing" and "The Northern Western Wing") is a Yuan dynasty miscellaneous opera written by Wang Shifu, around the Yuan Zhen and Dade years (1295~1307).
The play recounts the story of Zhang Sheng (Zhang Junrui), a scholar, and Cui Yingying, a young lady of the Sangguo, who, with the help of a maiden named Hongniang, break through the obstacles of Sun Feihu, Cui's mother, and Zheng Heng, and finally become husband and wife.
3, "Pei Shaojun on the wall on the horse" (referred to as "on the wall on the horse") is a Yuan dynasty Bai Park composed miscellaneous plays.
The play tells the story of a chance encounter between a young lady of the Li family and a young man of the Pei family, who fall in love with each other and exchange love poems. The man asks, "For whom is the smile on the wall?" The woman replies, "Don't forget the date in the back garden tonight." They elope and live in the garden of Pei's house for seven years, but Pei's father finds out and kicks them out. After a few weeks, they were reunited again.
4. "The Soul of a Sinful Girl"
The work "The Soul of a Sinful Girl" (full name "The Soul of a Sinful Girl") is a masterpiece of Zheng Guangzu. It is originally from the Tang Dynasty Chen Xuanyou's legendary novel "Leaving Souls". In the Song Dynasty, it was adapted into a playbook, and in the Jin Dynasty, it was compiled into zhugong tunes.
The early Yuan dynasty writer Zhao Gongfu had a play of the same name, but the play changed some of the plots of the legendary novel, such as highlighting Zhang's mother's notion of family: "Three generations of children will not be recruited by white-robed men", so that the marriage between Zhang Qiannu and Wang Wenju could not be affirmed.

1, "Sinus Grievance"<
The "Sensational Dou'e Grievance" (Dou'e Grievance for short) is a miscellaneous drama written by Yuan dynasty opera singer Guan Hanqing and published in the 10th year of the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty (1582).
The four-fold play is about a weak widow, Dou E, who is framed by a scoundrel and beaten by a stupid official, and is sentenced to be beheaded and displayed in public. Before her execution, Dou E, full of grief and anger, makes three vows: blood spattered with white practice, snow in June, and a three-year drought. As a result, Dou E's grievances have been realized, and all three vows have been fulfilled.
2. Han Palace Autumn
Breaking the Dream of the Lonely Goose Han Palace Autumn (Han Palace Autumn for short) is a miscellaneous drama written by Ma Zhiyuan, a writer in the Yuan Dynasty.
The play tells the story of Emperor Yuan of the Han Dynasty, who sent Mao Yanshou to select courtesans from the folklore, and Mao Yanshou took the opportunity to accept bribes and enrich himself. Wang Zhaojun was sent to the Cold Palace because she refused to pay the bribe to Mao Yanshou, who made her look ugly. Later, Emperor Yuan of the Han Dynasty met Wang Zhaojun by chance when he toured the harem, so he favored her and made her Concubine Ming.
Mao Yanshou, knowing that he could not escape from his crime, defected to the Xiong Nu, and offered Zhaojun a beautiful picture to Huanxie Shan Yu, who demanded Zhaojun as his wife from the Emperor, and if he did not comply, he would fight with the army. The Han Dynasty's civil and military officials were afraid of the Xiong Nu, and advised Emperor Yuan to give up his love and exchange his beauty for peace.
Yuanti had no choice but to let Zhaojun go out of the Ba River, and personally went to the Ba Bridge to say goodbye. When Emperor Yuan returned to his palace, he was overwhelmed with grief. And Zhaojun, who did not want to leave her homeland, threw herself into the water and died in the Heilongjiang River, where the Han-Fan border is located.
3. "Wutong Rain"
Tang Minghuang's Autumn Night Wutong Rain (or Wutong Rain for short) is a miscellaneous drama written by Bai Pu, a Yuan Dynasty literary scholar.
The play tells the story of Emperor Ming Huang of Tang, who favored Yang Guifei and became drunk and ignored the imperial government. In the Hall of Eternal Life, she begs for a vow, and in the Pavilion of Sinking Fragrance, she enjoys the Dance of the Nei Shang Fei Yi (The Neon Dress and the Feathered Garments). Suddenly, it was reported that An Lushan had rebelled, and Emperor Ming and Concubine Yang fled in a hurry. To the Mawei stage, the soldiers mutinied, forcing Ming Huang to give Yang Fei hanged to death.
After the chaos, Ming Huang retired as the emperor, day after day, weeping and sacrificing the portrait of Yang Fei. A night dream and Yang Fei reunion, was woken up by the night rain. The rain hit the sycamore tree, adding to Emperor Ming's depression.
4, "Zhao's Orphan"
"Zhao's Orphan Great Revenge" (also known as "Injustice Reported Injustice Zhao's Orphan," "Zhao's Orphan Injustice Reported Injustice," referred to as "Zhao's Orphan") is the Yuan Dynasty Ji Junxiang creation of miscellaneous operas, the entire play of the five-fold a wedge.
The play dramatizes the Spring and Autumn Period, when Zhao Dun, the upper minister of the state of Jin, was falsely accused by the general Tu Gan Jia, and his entire family of more than 300 people was killed. In order to eliminate the root and branch of the Zhao family, Tu Gan Jia ordered a nationwide search for Zhao Wu, the orphaned son of the Zhao family. Cheng Ying, a member of the Zhao family, and Gongsun Pestle and mortar, a senior official of the Zhao family, planned to rescue Zhao Wu. In order to save Zhao Wu, Princess Jin, Han Jue, and Gongsun Pestle and mortar sacrificed their lives.
Twenty years later, Zhao Wu was brought up by Cheng Ying, who knew all about the injustice and reported to the king of the country, who personally captured Tu Shuanjia and sentenced him to death, finally avenging his family's death.
