Tourism Culture in Beiguantao Town

Beiguantao Town is an ancient historical city, where there are famous "three treasures": dough sculpture, vermicelli and round bell jujube. Among them, dough sculpture is the most famous. "langzhuang dough sculpture" is commonly known as "face tiger" locally. According to the village tablet, during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, a brother named Lang moved from Shanxi and established this village, named Langzhuang. Later, because the word "wolf" was homophonic with the word "wolf", it was too fierce. The villagers with good skills used flour to knead the word "face tiger" to restrain the word "wolf" for peace. There are more than 200 kinds of dough sculptures made by the old artists in Langzhuang, including flowers, fruits, animals, figures, mascots and tributes. Their colors are mainly red, yellow and green, and cobalt blue and white powder are dotted among them, forming a sharp contrast between cold and warm colors. Its shape is strange and exaggerated, simple and generous, and it has the characteristics of no cracking, no moth-eaten and no deformation after being placed for several years. Semi-embossed dough sculptures are rich in color, bright in color and full of movement, giving people artistic enjoyment. Won the "Tianma Gold Award" in the "China Tourism Boutique Exhibition" jointly organized by the National Tourism Administration, the Ministry of Light Industry and the Ministry of Commerce, and won the gold award in the "Second Shandong Folk Craft Expo".
