What is Fujian Opera?
One of the traditional operas in China, also known as Fuzhou Opera. Originated in the coastal areas of central and eastern Fujian, it is popular in the local area. Its origin is based on Jianghu tune, and Pingjiang class, Lao Lao class and Confucian drama formed in the ten thousand years of Ming Dynasty gradually developed and merged, and became Fujian drama after the Revolution of 1911. Later, it absorbed Peking Opera and other performing arts, and its scale gradually changed from small to large, becoming increasingly prosperous. There are five kinds of tunes in its vocal cavity: funny cavity, foreign songs, Jianghu, minor and bango. The main accompaniment instruments are flute, head pipe, coconut tree, suona, green drum, war drum, gong, cymbal, Qing and so on. There are about 1300 traditional repertoires of Fujian Opera, with famous actors such as Zheng, Guo and Cai Zhifang.
