The status of political festivals and national festivals

National festivals are an important carrier of cultural traditions, carrying and transmitting traditions; National festivals are an important symbol of national identity, which contains local customs, religious beliefs, ethics and other cultural factors in national life and is a long-term accumulation of national history and culture. Celebrating national festivals is a concentrated display of national culture and a concentrated expression of national feelings.

National festivals are meaningful days formed by a nation in its long-term historical development, on which celebrations or sacrificial ceremonies are held. Many festivals with different ethnic characteristics in China can be roughly divided into six aspects: production festivals, youth festivals, memorial festivals, customs festivals and religious festivals.

Most national festivals are based on folk stories, and ethnic minorities also have their own festivals to commemorate the people and events in the stories. National festivals are closely related to natural seasons, praying for a bumper harvest, worshiping heroes, talking about love, traditional customs, religious beliefs and so on. They are living fossils of national history, concentrated expression of national lifestyle and vivid display of national traditional culture.

Although there are great differences in date, content, significance and ways of celebrating festivals among different nationalities, they all have the same characteristics of stability, mass, nationality and inheritance. Many national festivals have a history of hundreds of years, and some have even experienced thousands of years, which has become a cultural phenomenon deeply rooted in the earth and a cultural treasure house to be explored in depth.
