In the Jin Dynasty's Collection of Cultural Relics, it is said that Fulou people are fickle in skills, good at making humanoid objects and performing with their fingertips. As a result, puppet shows appeared in the Jin Dynasty and became popular.

In the early stage of puppet show development, no matter what kind of performance form, performance needs a stage. On the one hand, it plays a role in separating the front and back stage and between the audience and the performers, on the other hand, it can also provide the drama scenery needed for the performance. In the19th century, the puppet show developed a hexagonal shed stage, and an inclined plane was added in front of the left and right sides of the stage, which made the visual effect of the stage more changeable and more attractive to the audience.
