Why do dolphins rescue people when they are in distress at sea?

Dolphins rescuing people in distress at sea is nothing new. They are shrouded in mystery because of the further storylines that are often added to them as they circulate.

There was once a time when four Japanese crew members, adrift at sea because their ship capsized, were rescued by two dolphins and carried to shore. The rescued crew members recalled that the two dolphins circled around the four of them and seemed to be considering a rescue plan, and then they dived underneath the people's bodies and swam towards the shore with two people each. It seems they were conscious of saving the people and were very good at using their brains.

Because dolphins can help people out of danger at sea, people gave it a "sea lifeguard" name.

The dolphin is an inhuman animal, why would it want to save people?

Some people think it's a habit of the dolphin, or an instinct. If you pay attention, you will find that dolphins like to use their muzzle to push things floating in the water. It is probably this habit that makes it unconsciously become a lifeguard for those in distress in the sea.

Others disagree, saying that dolphins have minds, and that their rescue is a conscious act, as is their desperate attempt to rescue a threatened companion.

Both claims are analytical, speculative, and who knows what the dolphins were thinking.
