The Chinese Book of Poetry in the Canon
The Book of Poetry was known in the pre-Qin period as Poetry, or to take its whole number, Poetry 300.
The Shijing (诗经), the earliest general collection of poems from the beginning of ancient Chinese poetry, collects poems from the early years of the Western Zhou Dynasty to the middle of the Spring and Autumn Period (11th to 6th centuries BC),*** 311....
The Book of Songs is divided into three parts in terms of content: the Winds, the Elegance, and the Ode. The Winds are the songs of the Zhou dynasty from all over the world; the Ya is the Zhou people's proper sound and elegant music, which is subdivided into the Xiaoya and Daya; and the Ode is the music and songs for the rituals of the Zhou king's court and the nobles' temples, which is subdivided into the Zhou Ode, Lu Ode, and the Shang Ode.
Contents of Xiaoya:
"Xiaoya" is a part of "The Book of Poetry", which is Chinese poetry of the pre-Qin era, *** there are seventy-four pieces. It was composed in the early to late Western Zhou Dynasty, with the Li, Xuan, and You king periods being the most numerous in the late Western Zhou Dynasty.
The Xiao Ya not only describes the colorful social life and special cultural forms of the Zhou Dynasty, but also reveals the spiritual style and emotional world of the Zhou people, which is based on the real life of the society, with no delusion and grotesqueness, and few supernatural myths, and the sacrifices, feasts, and agricultural affairs are the products of the Zhou's socio-economics and the culture of rites and music.
The other poems are about the world affairs, war and labor, marriage and love. It can be said that "Xiao Ya" is the earliest Chinese poetry rich in the spirit of reality, which laid down the tradition of Chinese poetry facing reality.
