To visit the Marshal's Mansion, the first will be to the square in front of the Marshal's Mansion, the square in the middle of the square stands a statue of General Zhang Xueliang. The statue was completed in 2005 on the 69th anniversary of the Xi'an Incident. The sculpture was designed by Mr. Zhang Bingtian, a professor of the sculpture department of the Luxun Academy of Fine Arts.

Walking into the two stone lions gate of the Marshal's Mansion of the main south door, into people's eyes is a brick carving of the word "Shou" shadow wall. From the front door is the first courtyard, there are seven rooms in front of the gate, in the middle of the aisle door, east for the conveyor room, west for the telephone room, on both sides of the guards room. East and west compartments are respectively the inner account room, large kitchen, bearing the opening, dining room, electrician's room.

Through the Yimen (hanging flower door) is the second courtyard, the main room seven rooms, the center of the open door. There are five rooms in each of the east and west compartments, which are the places where Zhang Zuolin's subordinates, the eight major offices, handled their official business. East of the main room is a bedroom, living room, west is a study, warehouse. The north of the east room is the internal mailbox, and the south is the secretary-general's room. West compartment is the general secretary's office.

The third courtyard is the residence of Zhang Zuolin's wife, aunt, young lady and others. In the middle of the main room is the Ancestor's Hall in the north, and three doors in the east, west and south lead to the east and west houses and the courtyard.

East and west rooms are five symmetrical, east is the parlor, west is the office. Each of the three courtyards has an east and west door that connects to the outside of the courtyard. Nowadays, the rooms in the two courtyards are respectively the Exhibition of the Performance of General Zhang Xueliang, the Ancient Meritorious Official, and the Picture Exhibition of Zhang Zuolin and the Zhang Family.

The courtyard was the early construction of the Shuaiyuan. The center of the group of buildings is located in the central axis. It was built between 1914 and 1918. Out of the courtyard east wall is the handsome mansion of the East Garden. Located in the north is the Dazhenglou, the center of the handsome mansion where Zhang Zuolin and Zhang Xueliang lived, met with guests, and worked. The Daqinglou is a three-story Romanesque brick building, which is said to have been designed and built in the style of the Cao family garden, the official residence of Cao Kun, the president of the Beiyang Warlord Government, in Tianjin. Among them, the first floor is a meeting place, used to receive Chinese and foreign dignitaries, agreed on the military affairs; the second and third floor is the office and living place.

After Zhang Zuolin was promoted to the post of Northeast Border Defense Supervisor in 1925, he used the Daqinglou as a place to discuss military secrets, make major decisions, and receive Chinese and foreign dignitaries. As this place was the hub of the political situation in the three eastern provinces at the beginning of this century, many major decisions and events here are closely related to modern Chinese history, thus making its reputation spread far and wide.

The famous "Tiger Hall" is located in the northeast corner of the first floor, which is named after the two tiger specimens sent by Tang Yulin, the town guard of the Eastern Border Road, where Yang Yuting and Chang Yinhuai were executed by Zhang Xueliang on January 10th, 1929.

Daqinglou is a three-story building, sitting in the north to the south, polygonal, brick structure, European Gothic architecture, green brick walls, white cement smeared edge line, black and white, appearing particularly eye-catching, elegant. Downstairs steps are about one meter high, the south and east sides have a "eight" shaped belt, nine steps.

From the east gate of the Marshal's Palace is the former residence of Zhao Yidi. The former residence of Zhao Yidi, commonly known as "Miss Zhao's House", is an important part of the Zhang's Marshal's Mansion Museum, where General Zhang Xueliang and Ms. Zhao Yidi lived from 1928 to 1931, and where their beloved son, Zhang Lulin, was born.

The whole small courtyard is quiet and elegant, exquisite and chic. It consists of more than ten rooms, including the foyer, dining room, piano room, ballroom, office, bedroom and study-cum-parlor.

The other buildings of the Marshal's Mansion also have their own characteristics and historical connotations. In terms of architectural style, there are Chinese traditional style, Chinese and Western style, Nordic style, Eastern style and so on; in terms of carving art, there are various brick carvings, stone carvings, wood carvings, paintings and other forms of art, which can be regarded as a collection of modern architectural art, and it is a rare example of research on architectural craftsmanship.
