In which period was moral drama quite popular?

Moral drama was quite popular from 15 to 16 century.

Moral drama is one of the main types of English drama in the late Middle Ages. It prevailed in 14 and 15 centuries, and gradually declined in the middle and late 6th century. It is one of the important bridges between medieval drama and Elizabeth's drama.

Introduction to moral drama:

There are five most complete moral dramas in Britain, namely Pride of Life (1337~ 1346), Enduring Castle (1405~ 1425) and Moral Drama. 1450~ 1500), human beings (1465~ 1470), everyone (everyman, 1495).

As a drama with teaching as its main purpose, moral drama conveys Christian teachings and ethics to the audience, which is more direct and intuitive than any other type of drama in the Middle Ages. It encourages the audience to participate in the stage performance and think and meditate with the characters by means of implication, typification of characters and personification of abstract concepts.

Therefore, moral drama mainly integrates Christian teachings and ethical concepts into some problems and puzzles faced by people at that time, and becomes "a specific type of drama about human predicament".
