What is Dutch celadon?
In Delft, which produces blue pottery and is known as the "European porcelain capital", the reporter visited the most famous "Royal Delft" blue pottery factory in the Netherlands.
Royal Delft, founded in 1653, is the only blue pottery factory that has survived to this day in17th century, and still insists on the traditional manual method to make pottery. However, during more than 300 years of wind and rain, the factory moved several times in Delft, and finally moved to the corner of the south of the city 1906.
At the Blue Pottery Museum, Ms. Alexander, a factory worker, pointed to the rows of painted plates and said, "We won the title of' Royal' at 19 19. Every major event of the Dutch royal family in recent decades, we will make special paintings to record the history of the royal family. "
Although Dutch blue pottery originated from the imitation of China celadon, it still has its own characteristics. "The biggest difference is that this is pottery, while China celadon is porcelain." However, for most ordinary people, it is the easiest to distinguish some differences in shape. The most typical blue pottery is a tulip vase: on an object similar to a porcelain vase, there are many tiny bottle mouths protruding from a narrow neck, and tulips can be inserted into each bottle mouth. Blue pottery with tulips, two famous Dutch things, complement each other.
Due to the complicated process and exquisite products, the blue pottery produced by "Royal Delft" factory is expensive, and only one item with the size of 10 cm will be sold for nearly 100 euros. The high price makes this kind of traditional handicrafts face a shrinking market in recent years. But we still believe that the value of Delft blue pottery will be recognized by more and more people.
