What is the difference between PP, PE, PC, PVC, ABS, PS? Advantages and disadvantages are?
1, PP is polypropylene
Polypropylene. Odorless, tasteless, non-toxic. Is commonly used resin in the lightest one. Excellent mechanical properties. Good heat resistance, continuous use temperature up to ll0-120 ℃. Good chemical stability. Easy to aging, poor impact strength at low temperatures, mainly used in home appliances, chemical construction and other fields.
2, pe is polyethylene
Polyethylene odorless, non-toxic. Chemical resistance, insoluble in solvents at room temperature. Resistant to low temperature, the lowest use temperature -70 ~ -100 ℃. Good electrical insulation, low water absorption.
Commonly processed goods are wire and cable sheathing, tubing, a variety of hollow products, injection molded products, fibers, etc., mainly used in agriculture, electronics, electrical and other fields.
3, pc is polycarbonate
Polycarbonate is a common everyday material, colorless and transparent appearance, with excellent impact resistance, common applications are CD-ROMs, eye pieces, water bottles, bullet-proof glass, goggles, mainly used in fire fighting , daily necessities and other fields.
4, pvc is polyvinyl chloride
Polyvinyl chloride resin is processed and molded to obtain polyvinyl chloride plastic. Its monomer cost is low, the production process is mature, easy to process molding. Acid and alkali resistance, abrasion resistance, good electrical insulation, non-combustible.
But the thermal stability and light resistance is poor. It is mainly used in the fields of manufacturing and agriculture as raincoat, tablecloth and agricultural seedling film.
5, ABS is acrylonitrile - butadiene - styrene **** polymer
ABS a high strength, good toughness, easy to process molding thermoplastic polymer materials. ABS resin is acrylonitrile, butadiene, styrene ternary **** polymer.
Can be in -25 ℃ ~ 60 ℃ environment performance is normal, and has a very good molding properties, processed products have a smooth surface, easy to dye and plating. And it can be mixed with many kinds of resins to form ****mixtures. Now mainly used for alloys, plastics, and ABS grades
6, ps is polystyrene
Polystyrene refers to polymers synthesized from styrene monomers by free radical polymerization reaction. It is a colorless and transparent thermoplastic with a glass transition temperature higher than 100℃. It is mainly used as audio-visual products and CD-ROM disk cases, lamps and interior decorative parts.
