What is Tai Chi

Taiji is explained as follows:

Taiji is an important concept and category in the history of Chinese Taoist culture, which generally refers to the most primitive state of order in the universe, which appeared after the chaotic period of the undifferentiated yin and yang (wuji), and then formed the origin of all things (universe). Taiji elucidates the process by which the universe moves from no-pole to Taiji, to the process by which all things are born. The General Office of the Ministry of Education announced in December 2018 that Handan College is a Taiji Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture Inheritance Base.

Taiji is an important concept and category in the history of Chinese Taoist culture. As far as the literature seen so far is concerned, it was first seen in Zhuangzi: "The Great Way, above the Taiji, is not high; below the six poles, it is not deep; before the heaven and earth, it is not long; and it grows old in the past, but not old." Later, it is found in Yi Chuan: "Yi has Taiji, which gives birth to two instruments. The two instruments give birth to the four elephants, and the four elephants give birth to the eight trigrams."

After Zhuang Zi, people in later generations gradually evolved the mature concept of Tai Chi according to the "Zhouyi - Series of Rhetoric" related to "Tai Chi", which really absorbed the essence of Zhuang Zi's philosophy of chaos.
