In June, 2002, China promulgated the Law on Popularization of Science and Technology in People's Republic of China (PRC), which is the first science popularization law in the world. In 2006, the State Council promulgated the Outline of the National Action Plan for Scientific Literacy. In 2009, Nanjing promulgated the Regulations on Science and Technology Popularization in Nanjing.
