Cultural Relics Collected by Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture Museum

There are 70,000 pieces of cultural relics in Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture Museum (traditional measurement), which mainly reflect the history, folk customs and revolutionary cultural relics of Ba culture, cliff burial culture, toast culture and national customs, among which the physical objects of Ba culture are the most precious, and the toast culture and cliff burial culture are unique. The museum has special exhibitions such as "Batuyun" and "Red Land". "Batuyun" is the first basic exhibition that integrates Ba culture and Tujia culture since the museum of Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture was established 30 years ago. There are 678 cultural relics on display, including the tiger buckle, the bell, the spear and the sword used by the Ba people, and the toast hat unearthed in the local minority areas. The exhibition consists of two parts: "Historical Relics" shows the whole process of the formation, development and growth of human beings in Enshi, from the "Homo erectus" and Ba culture in Qingjiang River valley to the Tusi culture and strange cliff burial culture in Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. "National Folklore" focuses on the colorful national folk culture created by people of all ethnic groups in Enshi from the aspects of eating, wearing, using and traveling of Tujia and Miao nationalities. The exhibition of revolutionary cultural relics in Red Land reflects the fighting experience, life and culture of Enshi revolutionary predecessors during the Second Revolutionary Civil War, and highlights the fighting process between Bao Zhong and Liyuan.

The Museum of Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture has published monographs such as Archaeological Culture in Tujia Area, Research on Ancient Architecture Culture in Western Hubei, Monument and Grand View in Enshi Autonomous Prefecture, and published more than 200 academic papers, and participated in the project of "Comprehensive Research on Early Humans and Their Environmental Background in China" carried out by vertebrate paleontology Institute of Paleoanthropology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Enshi Prefecture (referred to as "Climbing Plan"). Batuyun consists of "historical relics" and "national folklore". The "historical relics" mainly show "Homo erectus", Ba culture in Qingjiang River valley, Tusi culture in Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties and peculiar cliff burial culture in southwest Hubei, showing the whole process of human formation, development and growth in Enshi area. "Ethnic Folklore" focuses on the colorful ethnic folk culture created by various ethnic groups in Enshi from the aspects of eating, wearing, using and traveling of Tujia and Miao people.

The exhibition "Red Land" mainly shows the cultural relics and pictures of the activities of the Red Second and Red Sixth Army Corps led by He Long in the revolutionary base areas of Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan and Guizhou during the Second Revolutionary Civil War.
