Why is it said that reform is the driving force for the development of socialist society, the second revolution in China and the self-improvement of the socialist system?

First, reform is the driving force for the development of socialist society. The basic social contradiction is the fundamental driving force for the development of human society. Any society is constantly developing in the contradictory movement between productive forces and relations of production, economic base and superstructure. Basic social contradictions are not antagonistic in socialist society, but mainly manifested in the contradiction between specific systems and social productive forces, rather than the contradiction between basic socialist systems and social productive forces. Therefore, the solution is not revolution and class struggle, but reform. Through reform, we will consciously adjust the relations of production to adapt to the development of productive forces and the superstructure to adapt to the changes in the economic base, thus promoting the development of socialist society. Practice has proved that without reform, our modernization and socialist cause will be destroyed.
