2.DC welding: For DC welding, the anode of the welder should be connected to the weldment or workpiece, and the cathode should be connected to the covered electrode or welding wire. This connection is usually called "positive connection". On the contrary, it is "polarity reversal". Positive polarity connection can ensure the stability of welding arc and improve welding effect;

3. AC welding: AC welding, the positive and negative electrodes of the welding machine can be connected in any direction, because the current will constantly change direction. In the welding process, when the arc is focused stably in the welding area and there is less splash, it can be judged as positive polarity connection;

3. On the contrary, if the arc is unstable and there are many splashes, it is a negative polarity connection. By this method, the connection between anode and cathode can be judged according to the arc condition, so as to carry out correct welding operation;
