How to absorb the essence of traditional culture and expand universities

Among China's ancient Confucianism, Xunzi's thought is unique. It mainly inherits and develops the "external king" side of the Confucian thought of "sage inside and king outside", and advocates the implementation of kingship in the world to realize the prosperity of the country and the people. This coincides with the purpose of business development, so many senior leaders in Japanese business circles are loyal supporters of Xunzi's thought.

De Kojiro realized the essence of these thoughts, and gradually transformed them into the experience and art of doing business, forming a set of theories of enterprise emperors. He often teaches his son Yoshiaki Tsutsumi: "If you want others to serve you, you have to work three times harder than others."

Yoshiaki Tsutsumi's performance is ordinary and taciturn. It is with a wait-and-see attitude that on the one hand, he cultivates himself, on the other hand, he is cautious about his speech and behavior, so as not to expose his shortcomings and incur the blow of his opponents.

The first step after Yoshiaki Tsutsumi took over this industry was to solve the problems within the family. Although Yoshiaki Tsutsumi nominally became the heir of Seibu Group, in fact, his position was very unstable, and it was difficult to get involved in the management of many industries in Seibu, especially the circulation of Seibu Department Store, which was in charge of by his half-brother Tsutsumi Seiji. After Di Kojiro's death, Tsutsumi Seiji adopted a policy of rapid expansion by borrowing a lot, and its turnover increased by 3.5 times in less than six years, which made it famous for a time. At the same time, Yoshiaki Tsutsumi's persistence and patience were criticized by many people.

After a long thought, until the end of April 1970, a few days before his father died, Yoshiaki Tsutsumi invited his brother Tsutsumi Seiji to a restaurant and announced an unexpected and important decision. This is to hand over Seibu Department Store and Seibu Chemical Company to Tsutsumi Seiji.

Tsutsumi Seiji was deeply moved by his brother's generosity and trust. Although not born of the same mother, brotherhood still exists, and their differences and hostility begin to disappear.

In fact, the reason why Yoshiaki Tsutsumi wants to make the circulation group independent is not only his brotherhood to Qing Er, but also the bigger factor that he thinks Qing Er's management mode is unreliable, so he wants to get rid of the circulation group completely. The turnover of Seibu Department Store has increased rapidly in recent years, which has deviated from the normal track. In fact, Shang Er also knows that it is dangerous to expand the scale by borrowing, but he does so because he is brave, adventurous and unyielding. Yi Ming was deeply worried that his father's foundation would be destroyed in the second Qing government, and even more afraid of borrowing so much money, he finally had to take the Saiwu Railway to pay off his debts. So to be on the safe side, he compromised and handed over Seibu Chemistry to Qing Er, so that the circulation of Seibu was completely cut off from the railway, thus ensuring the overall interests of Seibu Enterprise Group. Of course, this decision is also the best for Qing Er.

Later, as expected by Yoshiaki Tsutsumi, in 1973, the department stores in Qing Er suffered heavy losses under the double blows of the oil and energy crisis and the international economic recession. At the critical moment related to the life and death of Seibu department store, it was Yoshiaki Tsutsumi who stepped forward and allocated huge sums of money from the railway group to support his younger brother, which made Qing Er come back from the desperate situation of being on the verge of bankruptcy.

The second step after Yoshiaki Tsutsumi took over Seibu was to enfeoffment meritorious ministers.

Dijia's industries range from railways, transportation, department stores, real estate, entertainment facilities to catering. By the time he took over the whole enterprise, the senior executives he faced were not only much older than him, but also quite experienced, many of whom were loyal ministers during his father's career. Of course, Yoshiaki Tsutsumi worried that without the support of these people, it would be impossible to manage Dijia's career. If13 of these people who know Dijia are unfaithful, then even if Yoshiaki Tsutsumi has the ability to reach heaven, there is nothing he can do. Therefore, after careful investigation and repeated consideration, he treated them well and made appropriate arrangements to make them surrender to him and cooperate with him. Especially, Yoshiaki Tsutsumi, who made great contributions to Dijia's career, carried out his remarkable packet plan.

1966 the withdrawal of seibu group from the real estate sector is also a major move in the process of Yoshiaki Tsutsumi's forbearance.

Due to the timely withdrawal from real estate speculation, it not only saved the Seibu Group, but also helped the government to consider amending the land management law as soon as possible. Therefore, the famous politician and Japanese Prime Minister Ikeda Hayato once praised Yoshiaki Tsutsumi as a visionary and responsible entrepreneur.

Endure and keep is not something that ordinary young businessmen can do. Yoshiaki Tsutsumi, on the other hand, can be on the defensive wholeheartedly when others are busy with investment and development, and understand the operating conditions of all industries in his hands, just like a fledgling general who wants to re-recognize the actual combat capability of his troops. He reorganized the enterprises of Seibu Group, went deep into the enterprise, and first gained the trust of the employees in the group. This style of strengthening self-cultivation is the real kung fu taught by my father, Kojiro, and the real enterprise king demeanor. In fact, Yoshiaki Tsutsumi persisted from 1964 to 1974, and did not lose a good opportunity for career development. On the contrary, other businessmen who are eager to pursue success have fallen off the horse during that time.
