Home-based care for the aged refers to a service form that the government and social forces rely on the community to provide life care, domestic service, rehabilitation care and spiritual comfort for the elderly at home.

It is a supplement and update to the traditional family pension model, and it is an important content of developing community service and establishing China's pension service system.
