Origin of World Tourism Day

Significance of World Tourism Day

With the rapid development of the world economy and the substantial improvement of people's living standards, tourism has become one of the main choices for people's leisure and vacation. The development of tourism not only provides many countries with a large number of employment opportunities, but also brings them abundant foreign exchange earnings, and governments are therefore paying more and more attention to the development of tourism. Although the global tourism industry has been affected to some extent by terrorist attacks, regional conflicts and the world economic downturn, it realized a strong recovery in 2004.
