What is a container?

This mode of transportation is to assemble the goods into a whole, put them into special containers that meet international standards, take the containers as transport and transit units, and transport the goods out by vehicles, ships, planes and other means of transport. It is a modern transportation organization mode invented in 1950s to meet the transportation requirements of large volume, short transportation cycle and good safety.

Container transportation has four advantages, so it is very popular.

1. High efficiency. Traditional transport goods have different packaging sizes and weight specifications, heavy loading and unloading, long transport cycle and uniform container shape and weight, which greatly improves the loading and unloading efficiency.

2. It is convenient to realize mechanized and automated organization and management. Because the size and loading weight of containers have been standardized internationally, it is easy to realize mechanization and automation in loading and unloading, handling, transit and storage.

3. Transportation safety. Traditional transport goods have different packaging and high loss rate. Because container transportation is easy to handle, the loss rate of goods is lower than that of traditional transportation methods.

It is very convenient to carry out international combined transport. With the adoption of international common standards for containers and the promotion of economic exchanges among countries in the world, container transportation has become more and more important.
