The Eight Scenic Palace Lanterns Jiangnan Hundred Scenic Pictures is a picture painted by the Qing Dynasty painter Lang Shining, the scroll is themed on the Eight Scenic Palaces of Nanjing, depicting the beautiful natural landscape of the Jiangnan region as well as scenes of the life of the people in Jiangnan.
Lang Shining was a famous painter in the Qing Dynasty, who was proficient in both Western and Chinese painting, specializing in a variety of painting techniques, and fusing Western painting techniques into traditional Chinese painting to create a unique painting style. The Eight Scenes with Palace Lanterns and Hundred Scenes of Jiangnan is one of Lang Shining's masterpieces and a classic in the history of Chinese painting, making it one of the treasures of traditional Chinese painting art.
The scroll is 23 meters long and 0.27 meters wide, ****divided into 1 to 20 segments, is a vertical scroll-type picture. Above the scroll for the "eight palace lanterns Jiangnan Hundred Scenery Figure" in large letters, below the inscription for the "Lang Shining calligraphy and painting Jiangnan leisure footprints in October in Nanjing", the upper right corner of the inscription is written in the Qing Dynasty official Zhang Jiuling.
The whole picture, starting from the Palace of Eight Scenes, depicts the natural scenery of the Yangtze River basin, including stone walls, twilight mist, peaks, lotus flowers, fishing villages, weeping willows, green hills and smoky rain, as well as the human scenes of the south of the Yangtze River region, such as the streets and alleys, teahouses and wine shops, fishing boats singing in the evening and tourists looking at the scenery, and so on.
