What should I pay attention to when welding at high altitude?

(1) When welding at high altitude, the welder must wear a safety helmet, fasten his seat belt with a hook, and fix his body on the frame reliably to prevent bumping and falling.

(2) When welding at high altitude, the climbing frame, scaffolding and ladder used by the welder must be solid and reliable. The ladder should be supported by special personnel, and the welder should stand firm and hold it firmly when working, so as to avoid slipping and falling.

(3) When working high above the ground, the welding cable should be tied to a fixed place, and it is forbidden to work around the body or on the back. Helmet mask should be used instead of hand-held mask. Auxiliary tools such as wire brushes, hammers, chisels and covered electrode should be put in the tool bag. When replacing covered electrode, covered electrode's head should not be thrown down casually.

(4) Under the aerial work, all inflammable and explosive articles shall be removed.

⑤ When welding at high places, high-frequency arc starter shall not be used to prevent electric shock, slip and fall. When working high above the ground, there should be a guardian, pay close attention to the safety dynamics of welders, and the power switch should be located near the guardian, and cut off the power immediately in case of emergency.

⑥ In case of rain, fog, snow, cold weather and dry cold, welding shall be carried out according to special specifications. The welder's workplace should be protected from bad weather.

⑦ Workers suffering from hypertension, heart disease, epilepsy, acrophobia, unstable tuberculosis and drinking alcohol are not suitable for high-altitude welding.
