Yao reigned for 70 years and inherited the throne from his younger brother. Yao succeeded to the throne after nine years because of his poor governance of the emperor. There are several theories about Yao's inheritance. Emperor Zhi, after his death, Yao succeeded to the throne; First, because Emperor Zhi neglected government affairs, he was abolished by the minister. On the one hand, Zhidi voluntarily abdicated Yao. In any case, Yao inherited the wealth of Emperor Zhi and became a monarch. Shun, who gave way, is also a descendant and the eighth grandson of his son. At first, seeing that Shun was filial to his parents, he secretly observed that he could inherit the throne and gave it to him.

After Shun's death, he gave the throne to Yu, who actively managed water conservancy. Yu is the grandson of Zhuan Xu, and Zhuan Xu's father is also from Changyi.

Now let's sum up the relationship between Yao and Yu. First of all, they are all relatives and cousins. It may be because of the age, so the blood relationship may be far away. But as far as family relations are concerned, both Yu and Shun are descendants of Changyi, the son of the Yellow Emperor, and Yu is older than Shun, so in theory, Yu is actually Shun's uncle.
