What is the national flower of China?

As of May, 20021year, China has not yet determined the national flower.

China has a vast territory, rich natural resources, and great differences in geography, climate, flowers, nationalities and folk customs. There are about 30,000 kinds of flowers in the world, about half of which are native to China. Which kind of flower can best represent the spirit of the whole nation has become the main reason why the national flower is still unresolved.

After the reform and opening-up, the Horticultural Society of China put forward the proposal of "Top Ten Traditional Famous Flowers in China" in 1984, which was later selected by Shanghai Culture Publishing House, Shanghai Landscape Architecture Society, Garden magazine and Shanghai TV Station's Friends of Life.

Twenty-two famous flowers with long cultivation history, high ornamental value and rich national characteristics were selected. 1from October 20th to April 5th, 1986+0 1987, the selection was completed, with nearly150,000 people at home and abroad and more than 100 garden and flower experts nationwide voting.
