There are broad sense and narrow sense. Broadly speaking, it refers to a song and dance art form popular in the rural areas of Han nationality in the northern provinces of China. In a narrow sense, yangko refers to the songs sung when performing this art form, that is, the "yangko tune" as a dance song. The genre of Yangko tunes is mostly minor, and a few are local folk art and local opera singing with rap characteristics. For example, the Yangko in the northeast of China, commonly known as "Yangko Liu Zi", was sung at the beginning of the Yangko performance. Haiyang Yangko tunes are mainly local folk tunes, such as salesgirl, oil seller, Ronaldinho and little sister dreaming. Its music style is lively and lively. Shanxi yangko tunes are represented by Jinzhong yangko and southeast Shanxi yangko. The tunes of Jinzhong Yangko are mostly local minor, with hundreds of tracks, such as Selling and Burning Earth, Walking to the West Exit, December, Embroidered Shoes and Trot. The music style is rough and bold. The tune of Yangko in southeastern Shanxi is close to the singing of traditional Chinese opera, and the tune has been divided into Allegro, Adagio and Kuqiang, which has the characteristics of traditional Chinese opera music. Most of the tunes of Shaanxi Yangko come from the "County Hubei accent", such as gang tune, cow silk, flower matching, swinging, cowherd and so on.
